CATIA V5 has three platforms: P1, P2, P3:
- P1: Less functions than P2, but enough for simpler design jobs.
- P2: Default for standard design jobs.
- P3: For specialists. Very complex functions with special user interface, e.g. ACA for design surfaces.
Most users will work within the P2 platform. Unless absolutely necessary, do not stray from the P2 platform !!
To switch the platform:
CATIA menu Tools/Options -> General -> User Input Style: Select the desired platform and restart Catia.
